Pantone makeup of the year | “Classic blue” shade

Pantone makeup of the year is back in the game since it was popularized by Kim Kardashian and her makeup artist Mario Dedivanović. Pantone color has been dictating the direction in beauty and fashion for years, and this year it is absolutely appropriate: classic blue. The so-called Classic blue is a deep, dark blue color that symbolizes stability, peace, self-confidence, openness of consciousness and communication, and as such is ideal for use in makeup – especially on eyelids. Whether you use it as the primary color on the eyes or as an element of surprise, it is irresistible in the texture of velvet or with sequins. Just such eyeshadows are fantastic for the smokey eye, but also for playing with color on one part of the eye.

With an eye pencil, you can turn the most ordinary makeup look into something different, if you apply, for example, classic blue in a waterline. Blue can also be used as an eyeliner or mascara, and blue lipstick or gloss may not be a typical choice, but they can look very elegant with a minimalist make-up base.

What brought pantone back in the game?

Kim Kardashian celebrated another entrepreneurial success – KKW Beauty’s collaboration with her friend and make-up artist Mario Dedivanović. All guests had to wear eye shadows. The dress code was pantone makeup. It was a tribute to the product of the collaboration – a cobalt blue eye shadow, called Libra.

The shade proved controversial among fans, but Kim Kardashian had an understanding. She even shared her fears about this color on Twitter: “I fought against this color and once, when I was on the phone, not paying attention to the pantone makup – I looked in the mirror and I liked it!”, she wrote.
